SACW came to us with a vast product catalog—73 distinct products and nearly 1,500 variants, but their existing website made it difficult for customers to browse, compare, and select the right options. Sample ordering was clunky and lacked a smooth online experience, which created friction in the customer journey. The biggest challenge was turning casual browsing into sample requests and eventual purchases, so we focused on streamlining the entire process while ensuring the site would be easy for the client to manage and update moving forward.
Our goal was focused on simplifying the buying journey while showcasing SACW’s design expertise. We built a custom product page that allowed customers to mix and match variations effortlessly, making the selection process smooth and intuitive. To support sample ordering, we developed a custom sample request checkout that streamlined the request flow. Navigation was refined to help users easily explore SACW’s wide product range, and we ensured mobile responsiveness so both trade professionals and consumers could browse comfortably from any device. The site was built using WordPress for content and product management, WooCommerce for e-commerce capabilities & handling variants, and custom PHP and JavaScript to power dynamic mix & match features. We also used Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to give the client flexible control over product data.
We implemented the project in several focused phases, working closely with SACW to ensure every detail aligned with their goals. We began by organizing their extensive catalog—73 products and nearly 1,500 variants—into a clean, intuitive, & filterable system that made browsing effortless. From there, we developed a custom interactive product page where customers could preview combinations before placing orders. We also built a tailored sample checkout flow for ordering selected product variants. Throughout the build, we enhanced the user experience by improving load times, refining search functionality, and streamlining category navigation, all while keeping the client involved through regular walkthroughs and feedback sessions.
