Carlo Picasso Decorators is a multi-award-winning team of painters and decorators based in Bury, North Manchester. Known for their exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail and reliable service, they serve homeowners and businesses across Bury, Bolton, Rochdale and beyond.
We tackled Carlo Picasso Decorators’ SEO head-on. Our dev team fixed technical issues, while our SEO team dug into keyword research and competitor analysis. We optimised existing content, added targeted local pages, and rebuilt the backlink profile – cutting poor-quality links and earning better ones. The result? Stronger search visibility, more traffic, and ultimately, more leads.

Carlo Picasso Decorators is a painting & decorating company local to us in Greater Manchester. They wanted to increase the amount of business coming to them from their website, so they looked to us for help in increasing the amount of traffic, leads and conversions that they were getting online. To facilitate this, another goal for the project was to optimise the site well for SEO and increase the number of keywords that it ranked for (particularly page 1 rankings).
As ‘increased conversions’ and ‘leads coming from organic search’ were KPIs for the project, keyword research and content creation would be particularly important here. We needed to make sure that we found the right keywords, assigned them to the right pages, and then wrote/optimised the content in such a way that got people to take the actions we wanted them to take.
Alongside this, though, our usual optimisation activities of backlink building and technical SEO improvement would also be taking place.
In the opening phases of this project, the development team set about identifying and effecting technical SEO fixes and improvements, while the SEO team researched keywords and what competing websites that were already ranking well were doing with their pages and content.
Once the initial research and keyword assignment tasks were done, the onsite SEO team set about optimising Carlo Picasso Decorators’ existing text to deliver better SEO as well as the extra conversions the client was looking for.
As part of this work, the onsite team also undertook Local SEO, creating pages to target certain geographical locations and communities within the client’s area of operations, while the offsite team worked hard to improve the client’s backlink portfolio – disavowing the site from poor quality backlinks that had been made, and replacing them with good-quality ones.
All of these tasks will have helped to increase the site’s search visibility, and increased visibility usually also results in more traffic and more leads – two goals that had been set for the project.
So, did we achieve what we set out to do? Let’s take a look at some analytics data to answer that question:
The screenshot below is what we’ll use to measure whether or not we brought more traffic and more conversion actions to the site, and as you can see from the metrics shown:

Taking all of those data points into account, it’s clear that yes, we did increase traffic and conversion activity on the client’s site through this project.

When we compare the number of keywords ranking at the start of the project in May 2024 with the latest numbers at the time of writing (September 2025), we can see that keyword rankings are definitely improving, because:
Lastly, let’s take a look at search visibility. To illustrate the improvement we’ve seen here, we’ll use the screenshot below. You can clearly see how the number of impressions (the number of times that a Carlo Picasso page is shown to a user in a Search Engine Results Page) has been climbing over time, and is now much higher than it was.

We’re pleased to report that things have been working well between SMP and Carlo Picasso so far, and so we plan to keep on going! Next steps from an SEO standpoint include expansion of our local SEO efforts to target even more local communities, and further optimisation of the site’s content using A/B testing to make sure that we’re always using the very best version of a page that we can, and moving with search engine trends as they change over time.
Every client we serve is unique, but our approach stays grounded in one belief: that marketing is a partnership.
That’s why we bring the best of our talents to every relationship—with clarity, purpose, and the drive to go further than expected.
