The Challenge
Career Connect required an upgrade of its core software, as it was running on outdated versions of Symfony and Laravel. These legacy frameworks posed significant security risks and increased the likelihood of losing support for critical packages and dependencies. Additionally, the outdated setup made it difficult to maintain the system, fix existing modules, or introduce new features efficiently.
The Strategy
We upgraded both frameworks and their supporting packages to the latest versions to mitigate risks associated with outdated software. A staging environment mirroring production was set up to test stability and validate the upgrade process. We then ensured that all existing modules functioned as expected across the applications, maintaining system integrity. Finally, we implemented new features that were previously not feasible, conducted thorough testing, and successfully deployed the updates to production.
